As a Columbia-trained psychiatrist, I thought I knew a thing or two about therapy. Five years ago, I had my first training in hypnosis with Melissa Tiers, and she immediately began to blow my mind with her challenging perspectives, attuned teaching, and powerful hypnotic skills. Her influence has transformed the way I practice psychiatry, and many of my patients have been the direct benefactors. Hypnosis, NLP, and EFT have become some of the most powerful modalities in my clinical toolbox, and very few clinicians come close to Melissa's versatility in utilizing and teaching these skills. Her book is a faithful, you-are-there rendering of her trainings, complete with the charm, wit, and playfulness that Melissa infuses into her work. She remains one of the most talented, creative, and generous human beings I've ever encountered, and this book is a gift that I'm sure you and your clients will benefit from. And now, you can take a deep breath, relax into a smile, notice how the pages turn effortlessly, as you absorb the wisdom of an expert teacher... - Anthony J. Tranguch MD PhD; Private Practice Psychiatristn& Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Columbia University
I wish this book was available when I first started doing my research on hypnosis. Up to date I have read a lot of literature on this subject and that is the first book so far that gives a good and satisfying, easy to understand definition on Hypnosis. What is more- it presents the practitioner with different ways on how to relay the experience of trance to their clients... It is the perfect learning tool for hypnotist and NLP practitioners - experienced and novice. What a great book! A must have in your library. - Desi Edwards, Hypnotist
This book is basically the best book ive read in the field of hypnosis. It essentially provides multiple pieces of framework for the hypnotherapist to basically tackle any condition or issue that a client comes in with. I just wish i had of come across Melissa's training sooner.I love the fact that there's no fluff - most seminars and books for that matter end up being largely fluff talk and endless success story dribble with little to no substance. This book is full of practical advice that can be applied pretty easily and effectively. I've never written a review before and thats a testament to this book. -Paul T
Melissa Tiers is at the top of her game. This book is superbly written and articulated. You truly feel as if you are sitting in front of her learning. Easy flowing read with tons of valuable information. A true asset to the field of Hypnotism.... 5 STARS Great Work. -Chris
I have been a practicing hypnotist for seven years and all I can say is that I wish I had read this book earlier in my career! This is a great book for novice as well as more experienced practitioners. It was good to be reminded of some of the techniques I had trained in but not used in a long time. Melissa Tiers gives things a new spin and makes learning fun. This is an easy and very enjoyable read. It should be on everyone's bookshelf. - Sara Somerville
